Autumn brings the new season Shepard Avocado from North Qld, this is the time that the Shepard Avocado takes over from the Hass variety. Shepard avocados are generally referred to as greenskin avocados as their skin stays green as they ripen. The Shepard Avocadoes season is from March through to May. With rain forecast over this week the temperatures have dropped slightly meaning the quality of produce growing will increase. Monsoon rain in the North has had an impact of the supply of bananas and avocadoes and also some tropical fruit lines.
