Produce Updates
19 July 2018
Supply and quality of most vegetables is very good, prices are stable due to the good weather. Eggplant is short on supply. Most herbs are also short on supply due to the cold nights but starting to recover now. Be aware that the quality on all soft herbs has been affected. NT mangoes are hitting the market this week, prices are high and the quality of the early season fruit is always poor. They will lack flavour for a few weeks unfortunately, so its best to wait. Grapes are still coming from the USA. Limes are short in supply and the prices have gone up. Seedless melons from the NT are high in price due to freight charges. Avocadoes have also increased in price due to a lack of stock and high demand.
We are determined to reduce our impact on the environment and you will see a decrease in plastic wrap and bags used to pack your fruit and veggies, some herbs will be packed in bags together, so keep an eye out. If you wish to receive your produce without plastic produce bags please let us know when you order each time so we can ensure this happens everytime.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.
