Fresh Produce Update 26 September 2019
Mango season has hit, and they are getting better and better each week. Avocadoes are almost finished on the East Coast of Australia, W.A. fruit will start arriving soon which means a hike in price due to freight costs. Please be patient with the Avocado situation, it drives everyone crazy when the market on Avocadoes isn’t stable. We do our utmost to keep the prices down and the ripest fruit delivered, but there will be instability over the next month or so. There is no early stone fruit due to the drought, the farmers are saying this could be the worse year ever for Stone Fruit. Pray for rain!! Most lines of vegetables are getting short in supply as the Lockyer Valley and North Queensland seasons are ending. Prices will rise sharply especially if the weather continues with no rain. The Queensland orange season has finished. You can still get your hands on Panama passionfruit and Afourer mandarins, but nashi have become scarce. In vegetables, we have good supplies of rocket, beetroot, baby cos lettuce, Stanthorpe-grown leeks, zucchini from Bowen, broccoli from Gatton, butternut and kent pumpkin from north Queensland, and local white and purple cabbage. Red capsicums are not arriving in large volumes this week so prices have firmed. Corn supplies are slowing down and cucumber supplies are moderate.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Produce Updates

Fresh Produce Update 29 August 2019
There are very dry conditions in our growing areas, produce coming from the Lockyer Valley is only average due to the lack of rain, making it very difficult to irrigate crops. Stanthorpe are out of water, so we are hoping and praying for some rain soon or the spring and summer crops will be heavily affected. Beautiful berries are at their peak at the moment, with strawberries continuing their fantastic run and blueberries eating well. Also having a strong season are Hass avocados, with top quality supplies arriving from all over Queensland. Imperial mandarins and Packham pears are beautiful, there are also beautiful Australian grapes around. A sure sign that spring is around the corner with Australian Asparagus coming into the markets.
Bananas are short in supply and prices are rising.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Fresh Produce Update 15 August 2019
The variety of fruits and vegetables are low this week thanks to the current cold snap. Winter will be with us for another few weeks and some of our growing areas are suffering from very dry conditions making the market hard to predict. There are still some great value and great quality produce available. The best pick at the moment are the Sunny Coast Strawberries. Mangoes our favourite ‘summer’ fruit is appearing from Darwin, but they are still expensive and not as sweet as they will be in a few weeks. Sweet potato is in good supply at the moment and well priced. Late Imperial mandarins are eating well.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Produce Updates

Fresh Produce Update 1 August 2019
There is consistent supply at the produce markets for Fruit and Vegetables this week, intake is slow due to cold nights and a dark moon, we can expect some positive changes towards the end of next month with warmer weather on the way. Capsicum and snow peas are short in supply, with Tomatoes and pumpkins firming up in prices. Corn is also vary scarce at the moment due to change in seasons.
Mangoes have arrived at the markets from the Northern Territory, quality is a bit immature at the moment and prices are very high, don’t expect a change until about mid August. Seedless melons are very light in supply for another week or so. Strawberries, Mandarins and oranges are all very good quality. Australian grapes have finished and the supply will be coming from the USA. Pink Lady and Granny Smiths are the best value apple at the moment.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Produce Updates
8 November 2018
The Stone Fruit season is well and truly off to a good start, the fruit is sweet and ripe. Blueberries are in good supply and very affordable at the moment. Qld grown raspberries are beginning to arrive at the markets. The first Lychees of the season have hit the markets. Strawberries from Stanthorpe are in good supply and reducing in price. Bananas continue to be higher priced as storms in North Queensland have affected supply, they are arriving at the markets very green, we are doing our best to ripen them up but they are very green arriving. Limes, lemons and passionfruit are very short in supply and very high in price, the quality of the second lemons are terrible, so we have stopped buying them and are only buying the best we can find.
Wet weather has affected the harvest of root vegetables, so we can expect prices of vegies such as sweet potatoes to increase. Zucchini’s are good buying at the moment, as are herbs like parsley, thyme and coriander.
We are determined to reduce our impact on the environment and you will see a decrease in plastic wrap and bags used to pack your fruit and veggies, some herbs will be packed in bags together, so keep an eye out. If you wish to receive your produce without plastic produce bags please let us know when you order each time so we can ensure this happens everytime.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Produce Updates
19 September 2018
Summer stone fruit is not too far away, quality is still a few weeks from being at its best and the prices are high at the moment. Apples and Pears are light in supply and prices are firm. Avocadoes are short in supply and prices are firming. Herbs are improving in quality and pricing. Strawberries have hit a low in the market due to the contamination scare. Our supplier has installed metal detectors to ensure safety to our customers but we would encourage everyone to cut up strawberries until the issue is resolved.
Warm weather will continue to make crops grow a bit faster and most vegetables are in good supply. Sweet potatoes and lettuces are a bit light.

Produce Updates
19 July 2018
Supply and quality of most vegetables is very good, prices are stable due to the good weather. Eggplant is short on supply. Most herbs are also short on supply due to the cold nights but starting to recover now. Be aware that the quality on all soft herbs has been affected. NT mangoes are hitting the market this week, prices are high and the quality of the early season fruit is always poor. They will lack flavour for a few weeks unfortunately, so its best to wait. Grapes are still coming from the USA. Limes are short in supply and the prices have gone up. Seedless melons from the NT are high in price due to freight charges. Avocadoes have also increased in price due to a lack of stock and high demand.
We are determined to reduce our impact on the environment and you will see a decrease in plastic wrap and bags used to pack your fruit and veggies, some herbs will be packed in bags together, so keep an eye out. Produce Updates
6 June 2018
With the Queensland growing season in full swing we are overwhelmed with local produce. Of course the highlight is the Sunshine Coast strawberries, plenty will be arriving over the next few weeks and pricing will continue to drop. They are delicious!! New season Navel oranges and Mandarin are getting sweeter each week. Blueberries are in short supply and will be for about a month. Grapes are at the end of their season. Avocadoes are very good, and priced well. Bananas are short in supply.
Vegetables are in excellent quality due to blue skies and fine weather. North Queensland produce in starting to increase. Tomatoes will increase in volume along with capsicums over the coming weeks.
We are determined to reduce our impact on the environment and you will see a decrease in plastic wrap and bags used to pack your fruit and veggies, some herbs will be packed in bags together, so keep an eye out.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.

Produce Updates
31 January 2018
Vegetable Supply is increasing at the markets and cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce pricing is coming back in price and should be stable by next week. Tomatoes are still firm in price and in short supply, some lines will still be heat affected for a couple of weeks. New season apples, pears and avocadoes have arrived in the market. North Queensland Shepards are still a bit immature, but quality will improve. Heavy rain has stopped harvest but pricing will come down over the next week or two. Herbs are heat affected but improving. All melon lines are very good quality.
Please ensure that at the beginning of the week you get your orders in for specialty produce, as we can’t guarantee supply later in the week.
