Of Interest:

The new season for Apples is still a few weeks away!  The very hot conditions are causing some problem for the soft leaf vegetables, herbs, salad leaf and tomatoes for the next couple of weeks.  Avocados are very light as the WA season comes to an end and the NZ season is settling in.  The new season for NQ is not far away.  Light supply means high prices which will stay for a few more weeks unfortunately.  Stone Fruit is still around and beautiful quality and prices well.

Of Interest:

Edible Flowers are beautiful at the moment, but get your orders in early for the Xmas week to ensure supply.  They are locally grown as are the micro herbs.  Not a lot of change to the markets this week with supply and quality, the Granite Belt will start to increase supply after Christmas which should help the quality of Tomatoes and Capsicum.  Seedless melons are very short in supply this week and prices will remain high for the next couple of weeks.

Get your cherry orders in for next week early to ensure we have the cases here for your orders, they are magnificent at the moment.

Of Interest:

With Christmas just around the corner the quality of Stone Fruit has increased.  The demand on melon types with the heat moving to the southern states has meant an increase in demand and a shortage of supply so we can expect prices to firm up.  As predicted with Summer here the storms and heat have played a major part in the instability of supply.  Quality of salad lines could be an issue including some herbs.

Of Interest:

Supply of Cherries, peaches, nectarines and grapes will increase next week, quality will get better as will the prices.  There is an abundance of fresh produce with exceptional quality.   Lots of produce from Victoria now has made the prices rise a bit due to high freight costs, the upside is an improvement in quality.  The Granite Belt should start in a couple of weeks.

Of Interest:

Not a lot of change this week to supply with the Granite Belt and Victoria ready to increase in production but cold nights (4-10) are slowing down growth.

Mango supply is increasing and quality is getting better along with other stone fruit.  We can expect a bad cherry season however, with most districts wiped out with rain, only 20-40% of crops harvested.

Of Interest:

A few storms swept over our growing areas on Monday, at this point we are not sure how much damage has been done, but we suspect supply and quality may be affected for this week and with more rain forecast for next week we will have to wait and see!!

Fine weather forecast means quality will improve and supply will increase.  Stanthorpe produce will start to hit the market soon and Lockyer Valley will finish.  Fruit supply will increase rapidly in the coming weeks and quality will slowly improve.  In just a few more weeks we will notice the improvement in flavour .

Of Interest:

Bad weather in South Australia has caused major shortages of potatoes and the recent power failure shut down all hot houses with total losses for continental cucumbers and capsicum and some strawberries.  All citrus is very short due to floods in major growing areas.  Road closures have caused major freight problems.  Should be back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Of Interest:

Not a lot of change this week.  Lockyer Valley produce is almost at the end.  Granite Belt and Victorian produce to start in a couple of weeks.  Market will experience some ups and downs until then.

Overall the market is looking good with the Spring weather, with some rain around in the southern states and a small amount in Qld some lines are weather affected eg; salad leaf, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce and herbs.
